Frequently Asked Questions
What does SMORE stand for?
We are an alliance of compassionate women who see the needs of single moms. Our purpose is to encourage Single Moms to be Overjoyed, Rejuvenated, and Empowered.
|
Is this a ministry especially for women?
It is primarily for single mothers, though we may add something for widows in the future.

HOW?
We equip and help facilitate organizations and churches as they plan and host a Day of Blessings for single moms. Each Day focuses on one theme. Our themes are: Personality Predicaments, Money Matters, Job Jump Starts, Bonding with Family Fun, Setting Boundaries, Nutrition and Manners Matter, and Dating Do’s. A group may host a Day for all seven themes over a period of time.
We provide all the guidelines and organizational plans for hosting a Day for the single moms. We even have a guidebook which walks you through the steps of planning and organizing a Day. Our Advisory Board (click here) willingly offers their talents to make the event successful. It is our goal to enlist other compassionate women in churches and organizations throughout the United States to host Days of Blessings. Gail will come to you for just the travel cost and meals. She will guide and inspire you through the process. Many of the preliminaries can be done via phone and internet.

WHERE?
We prefer that the Days take place in a home or home-like environment. Each event is small and intimate. Every mom receives special attention. All moms go home with an armload of treats and happy memories. As hostesses you will be gifting them with:
• A nice breakfast,
• A facial or manicure,
• A time in a hot tub or pool if possible,
• A massage and,
• A quiet time in prayer or meditation,
• Time to visit and share with others,
• Gentle Guidance.
