A SINGLE-DAY GUIDE FOR SINGLE MOMS

1. Know what is expected.
If a chore is assigned –expect it to be done. In the event that it is not a consequence should be applied that is in appropriate degree to the undone chore.

2. Allow Time.
Leave enough margin in your day to allow time for all meals, chores, and down time. Rushing creates stress.

3. Give Positive Reinforcement.
For every directive, correction or criticism give at least nine positive comments, compliments or kudos.

4. Teach One New Idea.
Everyday add a word, a value, or a skill to your child’s repertoire for adulthood. Create a list in advance or think throughout the day of what you will share each evening.

5. Have a Bedtime Ritual
Make the last waking moments positive ones. Have a story-time. Wrap up the day. Share a high-point of the day. Say a prayer.
